Our Story
At Andromeda we have made it our mission to create a smart personal safety device which will allow women, men, young people and ALL individuals all over the world to feel safe no matter where they are.
Our mission is to empower those who feel vulnerable and unsafe, and bring back confidence in their day to day life.
Every year, ~3 million women, men and young people are assaulted. We are changing this statistic, one product at a time.
By working with various technology and app developers to create a device and an app which go hand in hand, ANDROMEDA was born.
ANDROMEDA was founded by our director Aleks Gala with one simple aim in mind -
To ensure everyone around the world feels safe and protected.
The Andromeda Alarm and our App work together to provide you and your loved ones with peace of mind. It is made for everyone- boys, girls, women, men, students, elderly.
Whether you’re going for a late night jog and want to feel that extra bit safer, or whether you want to feel safe coming home after a late night out, this device is designed to help if ever you find yourself in trouble.
The story behind the name
In Greek mythology Andromeda was a stunningly beautiful princess who was given her own star constellation and a Galaxy by Goddess Athena (Goddess of Wisdom). Not only this, but her name Andromeda derives from Greek “Andro” meaning male/man, and “Medo” meaning I protect/rule over. Andromeda empowered women AND protected men. This goes hand in hand with our companies values. Our device is there to give safety and confidence to both women AND men.
So what makes us, us?
Our product carries out functions which other self-defence alarms cannot. Not only does it produce a loud siren when activated, it also works with the App to provide accurate GPS tracking, records 30 second voice recording, and sends text messages (which we cover the cost of for you) along with emails, which are sent to your chosen emergency contacts with your exact location and the voice recording. There are also multiple benefits which you are able to subscribe to which include an automated phone call to your emergency contacts which tell them you are in danger.

How do we differ from other self-defence alarms?
Its simple! We are the first ever company to:
Create a SMART Personal Alarm which does NOT require a SIM card to send SMS messages. There is no SIM card which you need to pre-pay. Unlike other smart alarms, we wanted to make this hassle free!
Pay for our customers SMS messages which are sent to your emergency contacts- that’s right SMS fees are on us! So you don’t ever have to worry about SMS cost.
Create an Alarm which is able to send a text message simply by being connected to your phone via Bluetooth and being connected to data or WiFi.
Provide a FREE app to all our customers who purchase the alarm with the ability to purchase in app benefits. Available in the App Store and on Google Play.
Create an alarm which does NOT require batteries- Our Alarm is easily chargeable via a USB cable charger provided with the Alarm. This saves our customers having to purchase tiny batteries and use screwdrivers to replace them.
Produce an Alarm with a Siren and Silent trigger warning- unlike other alarms which are just able to produce a loud siren when triggered, our Alarm is able to produce both the Siren (which alerts the attacker, and an SMS and email is sent to emergency contacts), AND a Silent trigger (where the attacker has no idea that you are informing anyone of your location and both SMS and email is sent to emergency contacts).
Unlike other personal safety devices out there, our Alarm is POLICE APPROVED, LEGAL and MULTIFUNCTIONAL.
