How does the alarm work?

Its simple! Once you have downloaded and set up everything in the app including emergency contacts, simply either press the middle button which will trigger the ‘Silent’ function whereby your emergency contacts will receive the text message and email with your location, or pull the keyring out to trigger the loud siren of the alarm aimed to scare away the attacker. The text message and email will also be sent to your emergency contacts.

Please ensure: The app is running in the back of your phone, bluetooth is on and that you are connected to data or WiFi.

How to use the Anti Lost Function?

If you have misplaced your alarm go on to the app> click the person icon in top right corner of the app>Bluetooth Alarms>Click on the alarm you’re paired with>Find My Alarm. The alarm will give 5 beeps and the light will flash green.

What are the in app purchases?

Free benefits which come with the app once you have purchased the alarm include- the email alert service to your emergency contacts and SMS to ONE emergency contact.

Basic Benefits- SMS and email alert service for THREE emergency contacts for only £2.99 per month or £31.99 per year.

Premium Benefits- SMS and phone call alert service for THREE emergency contacts for £3.99 or £41.99 per year.

In which places will the alarm work/not work?

The alarm itself will work in all places! The siren will always go off when the pin is pulled no matter where you are, providing it is charged. However, for the SMS and email functions to work, you must be in a place where there is service or where you can have data/access to WiFi. If there is no service then the functions will still work if you manage to connect to WiFi. For example, if you are in the Underground with no service then the SMS and email functions will not work, because like all technological devices, there needs to be a transfer medium. However, if your phone connects to the WiFi in the Underground then those functions will work like normal.

How do I receive the SMS messages and emails, and what do I do once i receive them?

For SMS— You will receive a text message saying:

‘{Your Name} SOS! View http://b.fenxingsuan.com/…. [BB guarder]’

where you will have to click the link which will show you the location of your loved one, along with 30 second voice recording if a voice note was recorded. If your loved one has pressed the ‘I Am Safe’ button on the app, the link will show a message saying ‘Your friend is safe now’ so you don’t have to worry.

For Email — You will receive an email from the app team saying:

Hi {Your Name}

This is BBguarder emergency notification service. Your friend (last 4 cellphone number is….) is asking for help. He set you as his emergency contact before. Therefore, this email is sent to inform you. Please contact your friend as soon as possible to confirm whether he needs help.

How long is the battery life on the Alarm?

30 minutes of charging will hold 30 days of charge! We do advise charging every week so the alarm is working to the best of its ability.

How long will the siren last once I’ve pulled the pin out of the alarm?

The siren will last continuously for 45 minutes before it stops.

What is included with my order?

Your order will include 1x Self-Defence Alarm, 2x keyring chains, a USB cable charger and a set of instructions.

How to turn on/off the Alarm?

Long press the button for 3 seconds to turn the device on. To turn it off you may only do this using the app by clicking the person icon in the right top corner of the app>Bluetooth Alarms> Click on the alarm you’re paired with>Power Off.

What is the Silent function and Siren function?

Siren Function - pull out the pin to trigger the 120dB siren and send text message and email. REMEMBER: please be connected to data/WiFi and bluetooth, and the app must be running on your phone.

Silent Function- double press the middle button to to trigger the text message and email to emergency contacts without alerting the attacker. REMEMBER: please be connected to data/WiFi and bluetooth, and the app must be running on your phone.

How can I ensure my alarm is working properly?

Please make sure the app is always running on your phone before you head out. We recommend starting up the app before you leave the house, work, bar etc, and turning off the app when you have reached your destination. Ensure your phone is always connected to the Alarm via Bluetooth. Simply just don’t disconnect! Your phone must be connected to data or WiFi and be in a place of service for the SMS and email function to work.

How do i disconnect my Alarm and connect another one? (for example if you want to swap your green alarm for grey)

Go onto the app> click the person icon in the right top corner of the app>Bluetooth Alarms> Click on the alarm you’re paired with>Unpair. Then go back onto Bluetooth Alarms>Pair>Search for the alarm on the list>Click Connect. The alarm you have just connected to will have a light flash green.

Things to note:

In order to effectively use the 30 second voice recording, text message and email function of the alarm, you MUST:

Be connected to cellular data/WiFi

The app MUST be running in the background of your phone. Just ensure you are not closing the app on your phone

Bluetooth connection must be on.

Please do not tigger the alarm by pressing it many times in a short period of time (for example pressing it 3 times in 15 minutes) as you will block the alarm and will not be able to use it for a few days. This is because too many text messages will be sent out, and the system will block the device thinking the user is not using the device for its intended purpose. Only use the alarm in emergency situations.

As with most technology devices, the alarm will not work if you are in an area with no service.

What is the Returns Policy?

We want you to be happy with your order: ) Therefore, each one of our alarms is individually checked for damage, contents and function before it is sent off to our customers. We take a lot of time checking each one of our products to ensure nothing is damaged, and each alarm is fully functioning, meaning you will never receive any damaged or faulty goods from us. As a result, we are pleased to say that our returns rate is very low :)

However, we will accept returns within 28 days of receiving your item if the following circumstances are met :

-The return form has been completed and sent with acceptable information included as to why you wish to return an item. Please e-mail: andromedaprotect@gmail.com with ‘Refunds and Returns approval form’ as title to receive a returns approval form.

- The item has been purchased via the Andromeda website or via our Amazon store (where applicable).


- The item is returned in its original condition, with all original contents inside the packaging, not damaged in any way shape or form by customer or in transit.


-The item is safely packed to avoid damage in transit and contains the returns form.

-Due to the nature of the Spike Drink Tests, we are unable to accept returns and therefore all sales on this product are final.

Please note - if you return your item and the above conditions are not met, we will be unable to offer you a full refund. Each case will be looked at individually. iAmAndromeda is not responsible for cost of postage and packaging, nor will we refund the cost of any shipping. We are unable to process any exchanges.
